This day 12 years ago was the last Hartford Whalers game. Freaking sad times. Hockey is really the only pro sport that would work in CT, since almost everyone has ties to New York and Boston teams. I still hold out hope that one day we will get the almighty Whalers back.... I can go on for pages and pages on how great they are and how they would still work but alas I will just sit back, mourn, and hope that they will return.

It took me a while to realize how cool the Hartford Whalers logo was. I wish Hartford had a team again. They had a great rivalry with the Bruins, with both of them being New England teams. It's sad that the team relocated to North Carolina which is known more as a basketball hotbed.
